🎄”An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them…… I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. …..Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
It is true that until we see God face to face, we really can only imagine what is would be like to stand in His presence. Yet, I believe He gives us glimpses of His glory, His wonder, and His love for us. He has not left us without a taste.
One such way He does this is through His mastery in nature. Have you ever stood at the edge of a beautiful wonder and almost without notice felt your jaw drop as you took a large inhalation?
At those moments we feel instantly small….but with thought, are also overcome with an enormous sense of worth. The soil of our hearts is stirred by the heavens that declare His glory all while remembering that this Artist actually loves us much more than the “things” He has made!
This Christmas season may we stand at the edge of His glory, with jaw-dropping, breath-gasping wonder. May we kneel before Him and yet rise when He says, “Do not be afraid, for I bring you good news!” May all He has done to bring us near, drive deeply into our hearts that we are SO valued by Him!
May we all believe it.
.🎶Long lay the world in sin and error pining, till He appeared and the soul felt it’s worth!🎶
